Increasing the Contrast on Non-Heat-Treated pieces

A way to make normalized pieces look as good as heat treated pieces. After the etch use Birchwood-Cassey Super Blue. Follow the directions. When the color suits you then simply wet sand with 1200 and a couple of drops of dish washing liquid to highlight the (15N20) higher brighter layers of steel. Then apply the oil or lanolin you like. The etch needs to be just deep enough that the bluing is not dragged off the lower black layers, a few thousandths should do it. This would be easy to redo if ever needed and seems to be holding up great on the flashlight I have been carrying and handling every day and it is inexpensive
